Each essay was reviewed for correlation to the 4 Way Test, organization of thoughts, language usage, grammar and spelling with a maximum possible score of 5 for each area and 20 for each essay. District 7720 is pleased to again sponsor a 4-Way Test Essay Contest to provide junior high school students (7 th and 8 th grades) with a simple and straightforward tool to use in making decisions in their everyday lives. This essay contest is designed to introduce students to the Rotary principles of personal ethics and service in their community. It also is aimed at encouraging young people.
A Rotary Club is encouraged to join with these groups to provide guidance and understanding of the Four Way Test. The idea is to pair up a Rotary Club with a school or class. This way the schools and Clubs are drawn together. The Mid-level Contest is assigned to the participant. A participant can request a change of mid-level venue to avoid certain conflicts such as SAT testing, a championship.

All four of the Four-Way Test questions must be addressed in the essay entry. Situations described within the essay may be actual or fictional. Entries will be judged and scored by the Falls Church Rotary Club. The first place essay at the Falls Church Club Contest will be forwarded by the club to the District Contest to be scored by different.
