Income Distribution And Poverty In Malaysia Economics Essay 1.0 CHAPTER 1. Health and education is the two important components of human capital. This becomes the most important needs to Malaysian people because health and education have a strong relationship between the income distribution and the level of poverty in Malaysia.
Educational inequality is the unequal distribution of academic resources, including but not limited to; school funding, qualified and experienced teachers, books, and technologies to socially excluded communities.These communities tend to be historically disadvantaged and oppressed. More times than not, individuals belonging to these marginalized groups are also denied access to the schools.
As a plural society, Malaysia cannot afford to have considerable presence of poverty and inequality. They undermine its social fabric and the foundations of long-term political stability. Thus having a strong anti-poverty and pro-distribution economic development policy is a strategic imperative.
By 2014, we see that income inequality in Malaysia is much lower than it is in the US and similar to the level in China, but still significantly higher than the level in France. Table 1. However, some would argue that this is not the case and that education produces an unequal society and is a negative institution where individuals are socialised to accept such inequality. This essay will explore the inequalities in education to establish how they occur.
Inequality in education can be from the low rate of development in the contemporary society. Social problems confronted in different elements of the planet also indicate a certain degree, the inequality in education. Education inequality brings with it problems which government authorities and countries have tried to solve however in vain.
Downloadable! Past education inequality studies found that within-groups inequality was higher than that of between-groups. This situation has resulted in neglect of the effect of between-groups inequality which shows the disparity among groups. This paper aims to investigate both within- and between-group inequality, besides interpreting education inequality among individuals.
